Today is Groundhog Day, and a new tradition was born at J.A. Kawas. Our students had the opportunity to shadow some of our leaders throughout the morning and learn what they do to prepare for the day. They got a glimpse into the work that goes into teaching, keeping them safe, and running the school. The event was a great success, and the students loved having the opportunity to observe and learn.

Our talented students have been hard at work on their Gifted and Talented (GT) projects, and were thrilled to showcase the incredible progress they've made! 🚀📚

🎄🌟 Our Kinder and 5th grade students had an EPIC day with Ms. Visarra and Ms. Toledo diving into a winter wonderland using VR headsets! 🎅✨ From a Santa sleigh ride to exploring dazzling lights around the world, touring Santa's village, and even riding a Christmas roller coaster – these young minds experienced the magic of the season in an unforgettable way! 🎢🎁

🎅Our Top 12 AR students were rewarded with a movie, pizza, and they had the opportunity to take a picture with Santa.📚

🧮 Ms. Recios' class actively participated in learning two-digit by two-digit multiplication. They used the Cleartouch panel to showcase their strategies, google sheets to unravel math puzzles leading to the discovery of pictures of US national parks, and lastly they tackled word problems related to national parks and experienced VR to visit a national park in China!

💻Teacher Ms. Vasquez and Tech Integration Specialist Ms. Visarra went on a tech-savvy journey with Kinder! Ms. Vasquez's little ones explored the fascinating world of Chromebooks and took their first steps in mastering the keys - J, K, and L through Nearpod! 👩‍🏫
