McDonalds of Laredo presented Dovalina, Leyendecker, Kawas, and D.D. Hachar Elementary Schools with a check during a ceremony at the LISD PAC Foyer. McDonalds hosted LISD McTeacher Night at various locations recently to benefit the four schools. The school received the donation for their efforts during the schools McTeacher Night Fundraiser. Staff from all four schools participated by helping sell cookies to help raise funds for their schools. The schools raised a total of $3,200. This is the 16th year that McDonald’s has sponsored McTeacher Night. McDonald’s of Laredo has also served as sponsor of LISD’s Jumbotron Scoreboard at Shirley Field since it was installed in 2013.Last May McDonald’s of Laredo awarded $16,000 in scholarships to local high school students who are also employed at McDonald’s. McDonald’s of Laredo has sponsored McTeacher Nights for 16 years, and supported LISD Accelerated Reading activities and Leadership Meetings. With McTeacher Nights, McDonald’s donates 20 percent of all sales to local schools helping students and teachers succeed.
